the support of research. Type 1 (juvenile) diabetes strikes children
suddenly, makes them insulin dependent for life and carries the constant
threat of devastating complications. In a typical year, JDRF spend
85 cents of every dollar on research and education about research. |

of Love |
Locks of Love is a non-profit organization
that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children across
the U.S. under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss.We
meet a unique need for children throughout the United States by using
donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most
of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to
a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause
or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem
and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers. |

The mission of the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation,
Inc. is to ensure the best quality of life for those coping
with multiple sclerosis through the development of support services;
to discover and support traditional and non-traditional healing modalities

options for treatment; to aid research in discovering the causes of,
treatment and the cure of multiple sclerosis. We strive to heighten
public awareness of multiple sclerosis and the Multiple Sclerosis
Foundation in order to elicit public support, caring, and understanding
for those diagnosed with the illness. |

at the local level. Through 29 state and local funding collaboratives-
our Community Partnerships- the National AIDS Fund provides grants
